In addition to supporting the NHS, we also proudly support the Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) Blood on Board scheme: Having blood and plasma on board the GNAAS helicopter helps the doctors and paramedics administer life saving treatment during an emergency. The time between collecting a patient and handing them over to doctors at a hospital can be the difference between life and death for a patient, so having a sufficient supply of fresh blood on board is a huge benefit to major trauma patients across the North East. We deliver these items to GNAAS when they need them most, ensuring paramedics have what they need, when they need it.

We deliver to GNAAS, working in partnership with our friends at Blood Bikes Cumbria, each evening of the year, 365 days, but we also assist with additional restocking during the day should the need arise. 

In 2023 we delivered to GNAAS 721 times.
