We would like to say a final good luck to all our runners taking part.
Our rider is ready to lead the start of the run and our cheering team are ready at the 10 mile mark. Barry is ready to take photos along the route and even met the Prime Minister who is taking part today.
As last minute nerves are creeping in and excitement builds ahead of tomorrow’s Great North Run we want to say good luck and thank you to our team of runners taking part.
Every penny you have raised will truly make a difference and go directly into keeping our service on the road supporting the NHS.
It started with an unexpected blustery Friday but our team had a fantastic weekend, as always, at Stormin the Castle. We got to catch up with old friends and meet some lovely new ones.
Global welding certification and inspection authority NECIT supports the hard work and dedication of North East charity Northumbria Blood Bikes with the generous donation of a signed Sunderland football and shirt to aid in their fundraising efforts.
We would like to wish our volunteer Peter the best of luck with his Iron Butt 1000 Challenge tomorrow.
Peter is taking on this challenge in memory of his step son Ben and is raising money for Royal British Legion, Northumbria Blood Bikes and The Royal Signals Charity.
Good luck Peter!

We are very grateful to our volunteers for the time they give to our charity. Every three months we have the honour to present our volunteers with recognition awards for achieving milestone shift totals.
Last night we awarded Jeff and Kevan their ‘Bronze Award’ for completing 25 shifts, Peter and Alan their ‘Silver Award’ for completing 50 shifts, John and Tony their ‘Gold Award’ for completing 100 shifts, Peter, Tom and Rob their ‘Gold/Red Award’ for completing 200 shifts and Paul his ‘Crystal Award’ for completing 500 shifts.
For those attending our 360 Challenge this weekend they’ll be the first to be able to get their hands on our brand new blood bike patches and vehicle stickers.
