Christmas Eve, Eve sample relay

Today four Blood Bike groups took part in a national relay of samples.

Beginning with David from Blood Bikes Scotland at Victoria Hospital, in Kirkcaldy, and with Joe from Blood Bikes Scotland at Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh. David met with Sam from Northumbria Blood Bikes in Berwick. Where not only did he hand over the samples he also sent a selection box for each volunteer taking part (thank you). Sam then met with Andy from Whiteknights Yorkshire Blood Bikes at  Scotch Corner. The first of the samples were delivered to St James' University Hospital, in Leeds, the next was relayed with Tim from Greater Manchester Blood Bikes at Birch Services who took the final samples to Bolton NHS Foundation Trust Antenatal Screening Lab.

All completed completely free of charge for the NHS by Blood Bike volunteers.
