Sent on behalf of Rota Mgr Please be aware that the north bound tunnel of the Tyne Tunnel will be closed the weekend of 3rd May and then every weekend from 7th June 2024 to 3rd March 2025 with a few exceptions i.e. Great North Run. The southbound tunnel will become bi-directional. Given the imminent work on the Tyne Bridge, this will add pressure on traffic given how busy weekends can be. We will monitor the impact of these road closures before putting any further strategies in place.
