<p>PRIMARILY FOR THE ATTENTION OF RIDERS,&nbsp;DRIVERS &amp; CONTROLLERS</p> <p>Whilst on duty last night (3rd Dec),&nbsp;a new road layout was being marked up at the RVI Leazes Wing to pre-empt extensive building work for a new &#39;Urgent Treatment Centre&#39; to reduce the burden on A&amp;E.&nbsp; Sean Storey has confirmed that the one way traffic system is ceasing to exist as of today (4th Dec) with the old lower entrance off Richardson Road being blocked off to all traffic.&nbsp; The previous top &#39;one way&#39; exit from the RVI is now marked as a &#39;two way&#39; system so can riders &amp; drivers please be extra cautious when using this two way entrance as the public may be confused in the next few weeks until the new layout is settled in.</p> <p>The Ambulance bays at the Leazes Wing entrance remain the same but a one way system to enter and leave this area has been introduced with road markings clearly showing the new route in and out.&nbsp; The 2 &#39;authorised vehicle&#39; bays can still be used if necessary but please observe the new route markings.</p> <p>As a bonus for us, there is an extra &#39;Courier&#39; bay&nbsp;marked out next to the existing two bays, however with the small car park closing at the old entrance, parking will be limited on site and members of the public may well look to use these bays for drop offs &amp; pick ups, especially on weekdays &amp; weekends when traffic is generally busy..&nbsp; There will be additional security on site in the first week to assist the public with the new layout and no doubt prevent illegal parking.</p> <p>Would all members on duty this week please ensure they read and understand this new system and would controllers please remind riders &amp; drivers at the start of shift for the next 2-3 weeks until the new system settles down.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <p>A temporary locations page &#39;RVI-New Road Layout&#39; is being produced which can be accessed via Operations/Locations.&nbsp; Please ensure you read and fully understand this new road system.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p>
