FMT sample relay

Today three Blood Bike groups have taken part in a national relay of Fecal Microbial Transplantation (FMT) samples.

Starting with Rob from Shropshire • Staffordshire • Cheshire Blood Bikes who collected the samples from University of Birmingham Microbiome Treatment Centre.  They were relayed with John from Whiteknights Yorkshire Blood Bikes, at Barlborough, who then transported them up to Scotch Corner where our volunteer driver Sean. He then delivered one to The Freeman Hospital, Newcastle, and the other to Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital, in Cramlington.

All completed completely free of charge for the NHS by Blood Bike volunteers.
