Who We Are & What We Do

Northumbria Blood Bikes is a volunteer-run charity, delivering urgent medical supplies - blood, samples, medication, and more, out of hours, across the North East. We operate free of charge to the NHS, allowing them to put saved funds directly into patient care. And in recognition of our dedication and professionalism, in 2017 we were awarded The Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service, the highest honour for volunteer groups in the UK.

How to Get Involved

We now have charity places available for the Great North Run 2026 - and you can secure yours today!

• Buy your charity place now for £65 and guarantee your spot on the start line with Team Blood Bikes. We ask charity place runners to aim for a minimum fundraising target of £200.

• Already secured your own place through the ballot? You can still be part of our team by registering to join and committing to raise at least £50 in sponsorship.

Once you sign up, we’ll equip you with everything you need—from your branded kit to fundraising tips—to make your Great North Run experience unforgettable.
