At 19:00 on 3rd February 2014 Northumbria Blood Bikes launched its Blood Bike service for Northumberland, Tyne and Wear and County Durham. 

Owain Harris, with Blood Bike 1 - a BMW R1200 RT, was the first rider on active duty.

Our live service is launched, initially servicing hospitals from Gateshead Health NHS Foundation Trust, after eighteen months of preparation.
