Disclosure of Criminal Convictions
Membership of Northumbria Blood Bikes is covered by the Rehabilitation of Offenders act 1974, therefore we only ask that you disclose details of any 'unspent' criminal convictions.
There are several sources of information regarding the rules around disclosing criminal convictions, some are shown below.
.GOV.UK - new guidance on the rehabilitation of offenders act 1974
A person’s criminal record will not necessarily prevent them from being accepted.
Applicants will not be refused membership because of offences which are not relevant to and do not place them at, or make them a risk in the role for which they are applying.
On the application form you will be asked if you have any ‘unspent’ criminal convictions, if you answer Yes, you will be contacted by the Membership Officer for details.
All information provided will be dealt with in the strictest confidence.
