Today our volunteer driver Ian collected milk from the Morpeth milk hub and delivered it to several neonatal wards across the region. Beginning with the Great North Children’s Hospital at the RVI, in Newcastle, then Sunderland Royal Hospital and finishing with James Cook, in Middlesbrough.
Today we received news that we’ve made the final shortlist for the Pride of Britain Fund £100,000 Giveaway.
Now we need you to vote for our charity to receive the fund. This money will truly help us to be there for others when the calls comes through to our team of volunteers.
Tonight at 7pm our charity will reach its 11th anniversary since our service first went ‘live’. During that time we have helped to improve people’s healthcare journeys by providing a service to the NHS and Great North Air Ambulance Service.
Thank you to Whickham Ladies Thursday Group who chose Northumbria Blood Bikes as their charity for 2024. This was following a talk delivered to their group. Yesterday they handed over a cheque for £1000. Thank you so much ladies, your support is very much appreciated.
Yesterday five Blood Bikes groups took part in a national relay of samples. This run is usually completed by Civil Air Support however due to the unpredictable weather they were unable to complete it on this occasion.
