Yesterday five Blood Bikes groups took part in a national relay of samples. This run is usually completed by Civil Air Support however due to the unpredictable weather they were unable to complete it on this occasion.
Beginning with Blood Bikes Scotland volunteer Andy, in Kirkcaldy, down to Berwick-upon-Tweed where they were handed over to our volunteer driver Clive. They were then transported down to Wetherby and handed over to Derbyshire Blood Bikes volunteer Mark who took it down to Northampton. At the last handover they were relayed with Serv Herts & Beds volunteers Chris & Iggy for the delivery to the final destination at Charing Cross Hospital, in London.
All completed completely free of charge for the NHS by Blood Bike volunteers.
