365 days of the year we deliver blood and plasma to the Great North Air Ambulance Service on an evening - Blood on Board.

We also offer a resupply service during the day should they require additional units of blood. Today such a call came through to committee on call requesting a resupply. Within minutes of the call a volunteer was on route to complete the job.

We know that when we receive a resupply call it means they have had to use the stock they carry on board at one of the missions they’ve attended providing lifesaving treatment on scene whatever that incident involved. 

As we are sharing this our regular Blood on Board service is on route to meet our friends from Blood Bikes Cumbria so that they can deliver to GNAAS, in Langwathby, before our driver heads down to GNAAS at their Teeside airbase.
