Time to follow the yellow brick road

Kirsty Lawrence's picture

We're off to see the Wizard

The wonderful Wizard of Oz

We hear he is a whiz of a wiz

If ever a wiz there was

If ever, oh ever a wiz there was

The Wizard of Oz is one because

Because, because, because, because, because

Because of the wonderful Newcastle Musical Theatre Company (NMTC).

(Just be glad you couldn’t hear me singing that as I typed it. I definitely wouldn't make it into their show – Kirsty)

This year the committee of NMTC have kindly chosen Northumbria Blood Bikes as the charity they wish to support. Newcastle Musical Theatre Company are a charity themselves, as is the Theatre Royal, so it’s a hattrick of charities working together. One of our very own volunteers, Noel Harris, has been a member of NMTC for a significant number of years.  He has helped bring us all together.

We’ll be following the yellow brick road in a magical journey from Kansas all the way to the Emerald City, in a dazzling and energetic performance of this beloved musical, alongside Dorothy, Tin Man, Scarecrow, Cowardly Lion and rather a lot of Munchkins.
