Inspirational achievement

Last night marked a momentous personal achievement, for one of our incredible volunteers, and all of us in the Northumbria Blood Bike family are so proud his accomplishment.

Fourteen months ago we received the devastating news that Ross MacKenzie had unfortunately suffered a stroke whilst on holiday in Australia. After spending time receiving intensive rehabilitation, in the land down under, he then returned to the UK where he has continued on this road to recovery with positive determination.

During this time he has not allowed himself to be disheartened from volunteering with our charity. Ross has undertaken training to return to our operational team as a blood bike driver. A year after his stroke Ross gained his advanced drivers qualification. A remarkable feat and it is truly inspirational to all those who are currently facing their own battles. Whenever you find yourself doubting how far you can go, just remember how far you have come!

Congratulations Ross! We are proud to have you as part of our team and Blood Bike family.
