Our thanks go out to Wooler Parish Council for their donation of £602.20 from their community carol service.
This incredible donation will enable us to complete around 200 jobs. In real terms that’s 200 people’s healthcare journeys we can support and potentially lives saved.
Today we received an urgent request from the Royal Victoria Infirmary, in Newcastle Upon Tyne, at 16:20hrs to collect 16,000 units of blood product from St James Hospital, in Leeds, for delivery before 22:00hrs.
Today our volunteers have finished spreading festive cheer to the last of the Children’s Wards we visited in our Blood Bikes Santa Run 2025. Since we began this annual event it has grown year on year thanks to the generosity of those who support it. Back in 2017 we began by supporting one hospital but this year we are dropping off 126 giant Santa bags to 18 different Children’s wards, both in-patient and out-patient, at 12 different hospitals across our region.
Today our volunteers have been spreading some festive cheer to the second of the Children’s Wards we will be visiting in our Blood Bikes Santa Run 2025.
Today we took part in another relay. This relay was for urgent samples that needed to be transported from Edinburgh to the RVI in Newcastle. Thanks to Blood Bikes Scotland volunteer Joe and our volunteer Ian.
