A review document which shows Northumbria Blood Bikes performance over the last year, our plans for next year, and an overview of our purpose & goals.
This was originally distributed at our Annual General Meeting on Thursday 3rd September 2015.
Believe it or not, this is something we’ve known about for some considerable time, but could not make public because of reporting restrictions imposed by the Big Lottery Fund. However, these were lifted on 11th August, the day that this article was released and also the day that the National Lottery made an announcement to the press about our grant. So, we can proudly report that we have been given £10,000.00 to buy a motorbike for our work with the Great North Air Ambulance Service.
We are delighted to confirm that Heidi Mottram, OBE, CEO of Northumbria Water nas agreed formally to become our third patron. She joins other illustrious names of the BBCs Carol Malia and Prof Bob Jarman, Consultant in Emergency Medicine.
Heidi will support our work by raising awareness of us in the North East business community.
This weekend, from Friday through Sunday, we'll have a stand on the Recreation area at the Sunderland Air Show from 24-26 July 2015. Come and see us there, have a sit on the bike, join up as a volunteer, or event pop a pound in the bucket - other donation methods are available.
Some time ago, we delivered a talk to the Durham Lions Group. This month, they were generous enough to make a very nice donation to us of £300. They have also publicised who we are and what we do through social media, and on the regional Lions web site.
We are immensely grateful for the lovely doantion, which will fuel an operational bike for about 4 weeks, helping to save lots of lives in the process.
