Northumbria Blood bikes are pleased to present our first blood bike, fresh from having its livery applied. Thanks to all the NBB members for their hard work and the generous public and companies whose donations have made this possible.
The dates have been announced for the 2013 Emergency Services Show at the NEC in Birmingham on the 25th and 26th September 2013. The Nationwide Association of Blood Bikes (NABB) is planning to attend and Northumbria Blood Bikes as pending members are likely to be part of that.
Peter and myself had another productive meeting with a local NHS Trust this week.
As many of you will be aware, Northumbria NHS Trust are currently building a new emergency care hospital (inc A&E provision) in Cramlington. This of course has big implications for transport across the Trust as a whole, and we are therefore well placed to offer our services as part of the restructure that they will be undertaking.
Charlotte Harris has kindly (and bravely) offered to throw herself out of a plane to raise funds for Northumbria Blood Bikes. Weather permitting, the event will take place on Saturday 27th April 2013. Click HERE for the full story or to support the event.
If you shop at Asda Boldon, please put a green token in for us. Asda Boldon have nominated us as one of their nominated charities for the next two months. Simply put a token in the slot for Northumbria Blood Bikes, and if we get the most tokens, Asda will make a donation to us.
Peter Robertson and myself had a very productive meeting with Newcastle NHS Trust on Monday 10 December. While it's still early days, and we have a lot of work to do, agreeing which sort of packages we will transport, what the SLAs are to be etc etc, we're off to a great start with them - they fully appreciate the savings that the NHS will be able to make, and thereby divert funds into more clinical areas.
We both took away some further actions, and will be in regular contact now - the start of great things!
