Yesterday Blood Bikes Scotland relayed samples, from Western General Hospital, in Edinburgh, to our volunteer driver Sam. He then transported the package to the Freeman Hospital, in Newcastle.
Northumbria Blood Bikes are very proud to be able introduce our newest bike to our fleet ‘Lost Boy’. After the hard work of Owen Kerry’s family and friends who have fundraised over the last few years creating a lasting legacy in his honour.
Rachel Kerry, Owen’s mother, said: “We chose the name ‘Lost Boy’ because this was the name of one of the songs played at Owens funeral. We feel that it’s fitting because he’s our boy and he’s no longer with us. The name also links into Peter Pan and that Owen will never grow up and will stay the fun loving young man we all know.
