Revenants MCC

When we first found out that the Revenants MCC were holding a fundraising night to the Great North Air Ambulance and our charity we had no idea how successful it was going to be. Their hard work paid off with a great night had by all those who attended. We certainly appreciate the efforts that went into supporting not only us by a charity we work closely with.

Send a charity Christmas e-card!

Kirsty Lawrence's picture

Rather than sending the traditional Christmas cards this year why don't you send an e-card? You can then donate the cost of the cards and stamps you would have sent which will go towards keeping our service running this winter. Our winning Christmas card competition design is waiting to be sent this year: http://www.dontsendmeacard.com/ecard/yp1q

Could you join our team to support this winter?

Kirsty Lawrence's picture

The winter months are here again, with the darker nights already upon us, and we have already seen the first cold flurries of the white stuff. What does this mean for us as a charity?

During this season we rely on car drivers a tad more to keep our service running. When the roads become slippery we have a duty of care to our riders and call our drivers into action. Not only that but below 3 degrees we cannot transport whole blood on bikes so our drivers are an integral part of continuous service in the winter.

Newest addition to our fleet

Kirsty Lawrence's picture

Today we selected our newest addition to the fleet in replacement of our kangoo which unfortunately suffered a serious mechanical problem. We have purchased a Skoda Octavia Scout, this is a used ambulance responder vehicle, which will be our second automatic car in the fleet. This will put us back to a full compliment of cars in preparation for the winter months ahead. After some small graphic changes, such as green to orange, we expect her to slot straight into our operational fleet.

Northumbria Blood Bikes are delighted to announce they have bagged £4,000 from Tesco’s Bags of Help community grant scheme.

Our volunteers were delighted to be invited to Tesco Durham Extra for a cheque handover with the store’s Community Champion Joanne Reay. The store has been extremely supportive of our charity over the past few years and this money will enable us to purchase a new Blood Bike.
