Why I volunteer...
“I heard about NBB from one of my motorcycling friends, Ken Tait, who is a very active member and he extolled the virtues of the charity and the good work that was done by them.
We are immensely grateful of the support provided to NBB by Fred Henderson Ltd, who at very short notice have gone above and beyond to keep us on the road this Bank Holiday weekend. This was after one of our vehicles had to be removed from service for repair.
This vehicle has assisted in allowing us to continue our free service for the NHS during the #Covid19 crisis.
Today our volunteer rider, Lee, met with Blood Bikes Cumbria to relay samples from Cumberland Infirmary to Cytogenetics Unit International Centre For Life.

During the night our driver Chris took part in a relay. Freewheelers EVS began by collecting blood samples from Bristol Children’s Hospital who rendezvoused with Severn Freewheelers EVS. They handed over to Whiteknights Yorkshire Blood Bikes and they then relayed with our volunteer who delivered it to the Freeman Hospital, in Newcastle.
